And the Relatives

- Limited Edition Vinyl LP

I share these sentiments with Aaron over at Theory 8 Records - excitement abound. I will keep this short and direct but I can not recommend you listen to this enough, it is one of those albums that grows better each and every time you hear it.

The vinyl packaging is gorgeous and, honestly, not something I see very often. The exterior polybag is hand-screened with the text / logo and a clear varnish sits underneath on the sleeve itself. To read its description does it no justice.

Listen to the album and, please, spread the word.

Semi-apologetic preface: I genuinely apologize for the lack of updates in recent weeks. I’ve been busy — personally and professionally — but I certainly haven’t abandoned my precious ARAD Tumblr. I will be back in full force. Believe you me, I will be back.

Another pseudo-apology: I’m about to plug myself/one of my own endeavors. As a journalist/critic — or at least as someone who studied to be a journalist/critic and hopefully pulls it off to some extent — I try my best to avoid conflicts of interest. But you know what? I represent only myself with this blog, and while I certainly wouldn’t ever review my own record, I will happily tell you that several people (including Michael Eades of YK Records, Aaron Hartley of Theory 8 Records, Andy Vastagh of Boss Construction, designer Kyle Scudder, and And the Relatives [Eli Beaird, Andrew Brassell and myself, plus several friends/auxiliary players]) have poured their hearts, their souls, and countless hours into this one. I’m extremely proud. It looks beautiful, and it is sonically the best thing I’ve ever had a hand in making. Stream it for free, buy it digitally for $3, or get the limited-edition vinyl for $10. Thank you for reading. Update: Download is now free in exchange for an email.
